Karen....

I call them as I see them. And the basis for my opinion is amply supported in most cases before I make such a call. I have no problem with using words such as homophobe, traitor or racist when someone is affirmatively posting racist, treasonous or homophobic statements which support the call, IMO. Posting such epithets because of an alleged omission to respond to allegedly offensive statements of other posters on a public BB is a bit of a stretch and rather disingenuous IMO. And BTW, I'm posting my own opinions. I can't answer for Brit Hume or Mrs. Cheney or Noam Chomsky. I don't remember seeing any discussion of the flag pin lapel issue on the Bin Laundry List thread. Perhaps I missed it or just plain forgot? Whatever..... its probably not that important in the long run. I think what is unAmerican is rather like porno; I can't always define it with ease but I know it when I see it. Honestly, if we were not at war and members of our military were not in harm's way, my tolerance might be somewhat higher for the usual cliches which pass as "dissent" in less than conservative circles. But this is not one of those times.

And, so far, I agree with most of the examples posted on the Bin Laundry List thread....
