Agree Steve nice move. Looks like tomorrow might be more of the same.

The business section of todays "The Beacon Journal" (Akron) had a very good article on Biometrics. The article was a very good layman’s explanation on biometrics.

It discussed the acceptance of biometrics since 911 as opposed to the reticence of accepting biometrics prior to 911. It cited a Duval County (Fla) councilwoman who wanted anti-biometric legislation prior to 911 and who has changed her mind since. It discussed many technical and practical applications of biometrics.

It discussed the fact that data is actually a mathematical model of detailed physical features that cannot be reversed engineered to produce the actual image (fingerprint).

It cited that facial recognition has gathered the most attention. However, they point out that a Defense Dept study showed that to detect 90% of “bad guys” using facial recognition, it would be necessary to stop 1 out of every 3 people.
Visionics’ President brushes off this study.

I know, just another link you say... This one is from one of the new hits list, just another MT Digit picture... I thought that the MT Digit was just for desktop applications... Well... That really doesn't matter for this page... LOGO's are neat too. ;-)
