No, you can not buy Intel or AMD chips unless Germany tries to nationalize the AMD fab in Germany, which we all know what happen to it the last time. European can not build Aircraft since most if not all aircraft engine are made by the US manuf. You guy just have to eat all the free Linux craps until next millenium. W/O US, Europe could not tie its shoes together let alone do anything.

OT: American monopoly on GPS...

This monopoly is going away. Several different countries, and the EU, have announced competing multi-billion-dollar GPS initiatives recently, precisely because they are uncomfortable with a single system that is controlled by the U.S. military, which might decide at any moment to degrade the signal for strategic purposes.
