Milo, <Far from deja vu though as INTC doesn't have anywhere the cash or the market cap as it did in the K6 days.>

Common misconceptions held by AMDroids.

Milo, Re: "INTC doesn't have anywhere the cash or the market cap as it did in the K6 days."

You might want to check out the balance sheets, first.

biz.yahoo.com
biz.yahoo.com

December 26, 1998
Total Current Assets (short term assets): $13,475,000,000
Total Assets (short and long term assets): $31,471,000,000
Net Tangible Assets (all assets minus liabilities): $23,377,000,000

Sep 29, 2001
Total Current Assets (short term assets): $16,867,000,000
Total Assets (short and long term assets): $44,231,000,000
Net Tangible Assets (all assets minus liabilities): $35,902,000,000

It looks like Intel has plenty more assets than they had in the days of K6. I thought you might be interested in AMD as a comparison (yes, AMD is doing better, too).

Keep in mind that this was a July snapshot, without the more recent Q3 losses added in. But feel free to draw your own conclusions.

Ban Ban Milo MindBlo - Re: "INTC doesn't have anywhere the cash or the market cap as it did in the K6 days."

MORE BAN BAN LIES !!!

In January, 1999 - the height of the K6 days, Intel's stock price was around $20 - and today it is $32.

With outstanding shares relatively unchanged, Intel's market cap today is 60 % HIGHER than in the K6 days.

Likewise, in January 1999, Intel had $7.67 Billion dollars in CASH and short term investments.

Today, Intel has $9.15 Billion Dollars in cash and short term investments - 20% higher than in the K6 days.

Oh - and Intel has a SLEW of BRAND NEW 0.13 micron Copper wafer fabs - one of them a 300 MM wafer fab - which it did not have in the K6 days.

So your ignorant lies are once again exposed for what they are -- IGNORANT LIES.
