I think the class-action settlement is almost good. It just needs a slight modification. Rather than $1.1 billion in Microsoft software and refurbished computers, they should have to donate $5 billion in cash. Although even that would neither make a significant dent in their ill-gotten war chest nor deter them from future wrongs, at least it would be helpful to those schools that really need books, teaching assistants, pianos, and fumigation. And it wouldn't reinforce the very monopoly that they have been been found guilty of abusing. Dave
