The primary problem remains debt, IMO; how much does that have to come down to get the necessary slack for further growth, and how long will it take? Technology overinvestment is only part of the problem.

Mike M, ya that fricken flag springs up like a weed every time some kaiser, yamamoto (admiral-pearl harbor), hitler, or bin laden comes around and tries to pull out the leaves and doesn't understand the root system.

of course no flag flying or american spirit will do anygood if we've reached irving fisher's permanently high plateau.

but by the fall of 1931 the Dow Industrials had made new lows below the crash lows of 29, that was a 50% haircut from the top.
