I would not say that the men in the situation didn't do a good job, nor dispute the claim that they caused disproportionate losses on the other side even though they where outnumbered. However both the specific mission they where sent on that day, and the overall strategic aim of the deployment where unsuccessful. We lost in the same way that we lost Vietnam (where we never lost a major battle and regularly inflicted disproportionate losses on our enemy). And yes a big part of the blaim has to go to Clinton and Aspin IMO. Tim
