Re: Iraq and WMD inspections -

When Richard Butler and his team were dismissed by the Hussein regime, the stated cause was that the inspection teams had been infiltrated with CIA operatives, and were therefore engaged in espionage and not mere WMD arms inspections. It will be interesting to ferret out how we handle this delicate aspect of re-inserting an inspection team that would be acceptable both to the Bush Administration and to the Hussein regime. Particularly in view of our seemingly unilateralist zeal on the matter. My sense is that there is indeed quite a bit of back channel negotiating going on at the moment. Just an intuition.
