Real life is always more complex than we'd at times prefer. If Saddam were driven by any motive other than hate for the West he could be a huge winner in the current conflict. The one positive he has going for him is that he clearly isn't a religious fanatic. But that particular 'virtue' is a slender reed on which to build anything resembling trust.

Hi Joseph.....In this post you said......" The hell with what the rest of the world would think, why should we (and I'm talking about us, the people of the world) have to put up with the constant bullshit with them?.".....

IMO one of the biggest obstacle's causing us to have to put up with their bullshit is the insidious " politically Correct " stance that so many groups now live by in our so called western societies. Politicians fear these special interest groups, they fear they will be labeled the feared "R" word or intolerant or whatever..... and these kind of labels cost votes. There are those who believe that the enemy that the USA is now fighting thinks as we do,
loves life as we do, respects life as we do and it is these same people who believe that the enemy deserves the same rights and freedoms that we enjoy here in our free countries
There are whole generations who live the " Politically Correct " life. They believe it is the only way... Its going to be hard to change their thinking.....
Lets hope G Bush has the courage to tell them to jam it and do what is required.
