The Little Ice Age

Thanks for the report. Various records have been around for the UK going back thousands of years. Yes, they used to even put markets on the frozen river Thames during the 16th century, even light bonfires on the ice. It hardly ever freezes there now. But London has always been where it was, as plenty of other towns and cities. Records of floods are fairly good too. So yes we may have had a cold spell then but the oceans are getting deeper (expanding)

The trouble with newspapers analysis is they like to be scientific, but make you feel comfortable at the same time.
Mom and Dad can read the newspaper knowing the kids can grow up happy and content.

I would give credence to the NOAA sites information.

Scientists think that average sea level has risen between 10 and 25 cm over the past 100 years. The "best estimate" as given by the 1995 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change projects an increase in sea level of about 50 cm over the next hundred years; although estimates vary between 15 cm and 95 cm, depending what climate scenarios are assumed

There is climate change going on. Some of it's effects may be sudden and far reaching imho.
