yup that's really my point. AOL decided not to provide any customer services and it worked out fine for them. They achieved profitability in reasonable order while also delivering big time growth for investors. I don't believe AMZN can do this.

I've never had a problem with AMZN cust service although i've never had an involved problem with an order. But I know others who have. There are too many options for shoppers for AMZn not to provide excellent CS. But as for AOL obviously many non-techies were willing to tolerate their lousy or lack of CS to make it a non-issue.

btw it sure is amusing re AOL's lack of CS and their success - all the CS dogma in recent years says they could not do this and even survive.
