Karen,

Medical diagnosis uses statistics to evaluate and diagnose illness. Example: If you have symptom X plus Y plus Z then they treat you for XYZosis cause the probability of having that disease is over 85 or 90% when those symptoms are present. If the treatment doesn't work then they go to the next most probable disease and treat you for that ( whatever it may be). IF that treatment doesn't help then they go to the next most probable diagnosis. At some point you need to have a physician who can admit he or she is "in over their head" and will call in someone with more specific background in the particular area of medicine.

That is why it took so long to diagnose the first victim.......because the probability of having an infection caused by anthrax is so low. You never want to be the first person who gets a rare infection cause it will be a lengthier diagnostic time frame. The next person who gets it will have a better chance at surviving because everyone is looking for it.

Everything you say may be correct, but right now it has to be proven for science to recognize it as fact.

The woman could have been infected by just a few spores so until the source of the spores is located, it will be impossible to draw conclusions. The vector of the infection has a higher probability of having a criminal source because the majority of recent cases have been criminal. I am sure that soil samples will be collected and analyzed. We won't know the truth until all the scientific data has been collected and evaluated.

Like I said before......you may be correct. However, we will only know when all the evidence has been evaluated.
