Posted this on another thread:

You can only put off the Godfather so many times with borrowed money, and then he takes not just your legs but your very life. Look at NVDA filing to sell 20 million more shares. These companies are in GREAT trouble, and time is short waiting for the rebound to bail them out. If ONE other thing postpones this fabled rebound (and many, many things could), we will see not just one ENRON-type company fall, but dozens and dozens. How many are hanging by a thread? Look at the big names that have already filed bankruptcy. I can't tell you how many times I've heard and read people who say, "It could NOT happen in America", "This isn't Japan", "What do think we live in -- Russia?". The government is already going to be running in the RED until 2005 by their own admission. Social Security is nothing more than IOU's. And they are in a real spot having to cut taxes to hopefully stimulate the economy. But when people and companies see the Godfather's collection crew getting closer, they won't spend. The debt is MASSIVE from the lowest peon to the highest in corporations. The CEO's have been bailing on stock and getting ready PERSONALLY in case the company goes into a death spiral. Wait until these attempts at raising money doing these stock offerings fail. You can't sell down to a duck farmer, and you can't sell paper to someone with their neck under the foot of the Godfather. It's coming, and people in high places are sweating bullets and making preparations to save their hide. Warnings are everywhere. Look at EBAY's earnings and their market cap. Who is running this asylum called the stock market, and why do Americans blindly continue to hand over a portion of their earnings each month to these crooks?
I could start on this whole terrorism thing and how Americans are being conditioned to accept hardship and no liberties -- might actually make you forget your financial wipeout. Does anyone else think it strange that Bin Laden said he did not do it, and those girls that were released were not abused, and there seems to have been NO plans in place for further attacks after the initial one, and there seems to have been no preparations to make a fight out of this, and, and, and????? If you had planned and known the Sept. attack was going to happen, would you have had other things in place and anticipated retaliation in your country and been able to thwart that attack by other planned attacks? Would you have gone back to the country which was going to get pummeled? Kind of brings up visions of a borderline, ignorant yokel who gets struck with a temporary genius to be able to make and place a weapon to bring down a building, and then the genius leaves so he gets in an unlicensed car and drives like the idiot he was to only get caught, does it not? Is the defeat of terrorism the goal or the defeat of the SPIRIT of the ONLY country with citizens who would be opposed to playing EQUAL with every other world citizen? Liberty and freedom are the only things that stand in the way, but safety or perceived safety might make you give them up. Let him who has eyes see.

I remain,

SOROS

Amazing how Israel keeps living with this. American administration TELLS them to negotiate and have restraint. I'd like to see how many of these bombings America would tolerate as the economy crashed. Israel should ignore America and deal with their terrorist problem once and for all.
