Doesn't much of the studies premise depend on progress on networking standards (hardware and software). While much headway is being made, should we expect the changes and corporate restructuring of product lines by the end on 2002. I am not sure it will happen that fast. Also, when there are major archetectural changes (like abandonment of quasi proprietary network structures and management systems) its usually not the current big dogs that survive and lead.
