So why is Japan doomed if we aren't?

They're going to die

How can I make money with these conclusions?

Sell them life insurance.

There must be N American life insurance companies doing business there.

The Chinese have other problems associated with any degree of a slowing of exports. Unlike the Japanese or the US the

Chinese have little domestic demand infrastructure to buffer the effects of a drop in exports.

ME I believe infrastructure are built to meet demands. I dont believe you can create the infrastructure and there of you have demand. The demand base to me is the first base. The expansion of companies in China providing the tax rate remains resonable allows the beginning of a new infrastructure in center of China.

YOU So China gets hit with a recession that is leveraged to the downside relative to us. It's almost sure that in 2002 China will see significant negative growth perhaps on the level of 5%.

Me I don't feel the demand will diminish for outside labor until our labor and cost rate diminishes here. Due to Chinas poverty providing that she maintains internal stability the growth level will increase due to her interanal exposure to a different life style and the words hope to do. The Hispanic populous has done very well in So Calif the opportunity was there and people seize opportunity. It is only the government and religion that stop the opportunity clause.

YOu Let's say this is true. So what? How can I make money with these conclusions?

ME I believe that if you feel that China is going to see a recession than the world as we know it is going to be in one with her.

There of i would be working on self protection course instead of future and that means I would be buying commodities. Relate that to gold and you have an approximate lowest production cost base of 150 per ounce so you could maybe see gold return to about 225 ounce in the worst case scenario.

Please excuse spelling

Question from 1999:

I wonder if ATHM will try to set up a deal with Enron to deliver BB over power lines.

They do have a huge quantity of money and very little debt, about 2% of assets. It's ten times worse here. So why is Japan doomed if we aren't?"

What is Japan doing with all that money? Where are the entrepreneurs, the new ideas? Like you said, Japan needed to change, but they have not. They may not be doomed, but I don't think I'll be trading my dollars for yen anytime soon.
