WC, One mans tribe is another mans nation. Your point regarding economic viability is key. RE: Afghanistan Would it be a bad thing if there was a north south partition? Would give pakistan a buffer/pashtoon/client state and the northern part would fit in nicely with the former soviet "stans" in the area. Just a thought! mike

i posted this on amat. Looking for some responses AD, A further thought about the mideast. Mubarek and King Abdullah of jordan set up an emergency special meeting to discuss terror issue affecting israel. Egypt once controlled gaza and jordan the west bank. Does anyone think it is possible that they will be invited in to take over these territories. Both recognize Israel and have the most to lose if Palestinian terrorist take over. I believe israel would welcome this. Just a thought. mike
