I am not convinced the selling in MSFT has ANYTHING to do with MSFT itself

I got a channel meeting with some softies at the ungodly hour of 7 AM Thursday before a dog and pony show for the masses of Windows XP and Windows 2000 server platform. I have not a clue if MSFT can get anyone to even kick XP's tires. After market closes Thursday, I will comment if MSFT got anything in it's tank besides the current 5% per quarter price increases, end of all version and competitive upgrade discounts and strict copyright enforcement. I don't think these factors alone will be enough to justify current P/E alone.
The end of the competitive upgrade discount policy seems to end within a week of DOJ settlement charges about being a monopoly. Talk about owning monopolistic market share. <g>
