IGIT, may be it was not clear... the verses (begining with 2:190) were revealed to Prophet Muhammad pbuh when the companions feared a repeat of what happened the year before... a very specific situation please note, this is not the authors perspective... it's more like a documentary ... it references statements by the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions as well... there is no author or writer perspective here... all what the author/writer has done is presenting the compiled information. I have to look at the reasons behind the verses that you reference starting with 2:195 and see if there is a different reason stated... regards amein
