George you attack me as having tunnel vision and then you post a not too bright statement below..... <<<<<<<<<Your vision in this area qualifies as "tunnel". Which sentence did you not understand? Company value = value of stock should be self-evident. Didn't say that ALL companies derive stock interest by paying dividends. Growth companies' stock has value because of projected future dividends.>>>>>>>>>>> Understand this stock value is not a function of dividends it is a function of growth and sales and especially earnings as each of these declines or increases the value and distributions move accordingly. Dividends are the result of management decision that they don't have better investment ideas thus they distribute earnings. So in my tunnel vision remember one thing in the tunnel STOCK PRICES ARE A FUNCTION OF EARNINGS AND EARNINGS POTENTIAL AND NOTHING ELSE
