The familiar story of "Footprints" comes to mind. When things get really rough, there are only two footprints in the sand because we are being carried through our darkest hours. I think of that often when life gets a little too difficult.

I have often used that thought when talking to troubled teens...many of them need to know that they are not completely alone.

My "friend" is not "imaginary"...but very real.
