I think smarts is more important. Hell my arm at 42 is better then Joe Montana's was in his prime but he always put the ball in the right spot.

Obviously, an NFL QB needs a certain amount of mustard on the ball. But that doesn't guarantee success, as you state. The best QB of all time IMO was Montana, with his relatively soft throws. Jeff George is the hardest thrower in the NFL and he's out of a job. Bledsoe too. And of course, there's always Rob Johnson. -g-
