yes.. but there is a growing side movement to all that... there's a move at the moment, for example, in India to upgrade thousands of bycycle "rickshaws" to electrically assisted... key element being the battery of course and the focus is on hydrides... two key players in the development of electric assist bycycles and battery development/fuel cell deveopment in the united states have former chairmen of the big three running their companies...
