Given those Palestinians some technology and they would be having jobs and firing GSM messages to girls rather that firing stones at the Isralis. They would also be thinking about buying cars and DVDs.

Some naturally recognize the declining marginal utility of stuff, and perhaps also realize delayed gratification can eventually provide a sense of freedom that no amount of toys can.

Toys are nice; I guess it depends on one's individual values.
