wbmw, I said 5-10 percent for the bandwidth and I was close. The average was 6 percent. I think the total ( cache+FSB ) improvement will be about 10-12 percent on average. SMT may contribute another 20% to multi-threaded apps when running on XP professional and above.

p.s. Not all multi-threaded apps are created equal. Some will invoke multiple threads some times and not others. I see SMT/SMP being more usefull if it multithreads between the app and the background OS tasks which has the effect of making the system more responsive which makes ALL apps seem faster.
