GV, <I've often stated that the influence of analysts is vastly overrated. A glaring exception happened today with Enron. The decision by the S&P analyst to downgrade Enron to junk status single handedly killed the Dynergy merger, causing billions of market value to disappear from the Enron debt and equity in seconds.>

Do you think that the downgrade was warranted, considering Enron's circumstances? If so, then I don't see why an analyst should be credited for "single-handedly" destroying market cap.

GV-- Re: Most likely Enron will declare Chapter 11, perhaps as early as this week.

Speaking as a professional money manager who has perhaps had some exposure to bankruptcies of enterprises that do actually have tangible assets (interests in/ownership of several pipelines, for example), do you have any insight to share on purchasing Enron's senior secured debt at the dimes on the dollar it's currently trading?
