So far this year we have seen AREM and ENE's SEC filings turn out to be fiction. Makes you wonder who else is cooking the books with the tacit consent of their auditors and the SEC.

Agreed that signs of smokes are worth running from. My CRYP position is still calls only and small in $$ terms, though I think the crap would have hit the fan by now is they had real regulatory "issues", i.e. any lethal time bombs buried in the system.

I have several very good friends who work for Enron. One is approaching retirement, and was counting on his stock holdings in his 401k for a sizeable chunk of funds. His ability to retire has been put off for at least three years and will certainly be less comfortable than it might have been. Needless to say, these are some exceedingly angry employees. Lawsuits are in the offing.
