Perhaps it can be said that, while recession is a state in economics,depression is a state of mind. It is very cynical to say but japan is in need of a good natural disaster to focus upon. It would eliminate over supply of manufacturing capacity,and liberate private savings to rebuild. Another idea could be based on the phenomina that if two sufferers of depression{clinicle} are placed together ,one will often pull out of their depression quite quickly.
