Paul. <Always enjoy your "rants.">

Trust me, it's twice as much fun to write them<lol>

The real trick is NOT being angry. How is that possible you say?

Certainly, we all encounter people every day - both on and off the web - who're angry about how W.S. is constantly screwing the public and/or how the payola politics of our political campaign financing system has promoted rampant graft and corruption in Washington perhaps not seen since the carpetbaggers, after the Civil War.

I'm in no way joking when I stress getting beyond hostile feelings and realize that ruling elites have abused those they rule throughout history. Of course, some ruling elites are far more predatory than others. But power corrupts, period.

Whether the people ever discover the truth really depends upon how much cover you get from "the town crier". Our media has does a pretty good job there. About a year ago, on the old Strictly Drilling thread, a large number of posters had some a very lengthy and extensive discussion about how important it was to use news sources in the UK and Canada for information that is simply not reported here.

Once you accept that exploitation is the way the game is played, and do so without rancor, it's much easier to cooly see through the deception and gimmicks used by these high powered predators and more effectively protect yourself and your family As you get better at dodging the various scams, all the while feeling less and less resentment towards those attempting to skewer your wallet and your political support? You see the sardonic humor inherent in the human condition much as Jonathan Swift (sub chihuahuas for liliputians<g>) or Voltaire did. In fact, Voltaire made a fortune trading on the Paris Bourse before retiring to write philosophy.

For me it really is just that simple. Centuries earlier, in the middle ages, Dante hit the nail right on the head, characterizing the human condition as "The Divine Comedy."

A better trilogy than Star Wars, BTW<g>
