Canberra is a great city- spent a only a couple of days there so I didn't get to see as much as I'd have liked.

While I had a rental car, it remained parked as I walked for most of my visit. Given the trouble I was having adapting to driving on the opposite side of the road, not to mention the interchanging of the blinkers and windshield wipers, the gear shift on the wrong side, and coping with roundabouts... well let's say a break from driving was nice. <g>

There are big advantages to the apartment life- you can adjust your lifestyle based on your circumstances- little to no maintenance worries and so on. I was surprised how little the rent was there- I'd probably relocate if not for the family ties in the US.
