the verses starting 2:195 were revealed for a different situation... it seems that a group of people referred to by "al-ansar" stopped spending their money for religious purposes... and that is why the verse was revealed... and by the way, it is not the same time frame as the verses starting 2:190... the "reasons of the verses" book states that the "al-ansar" used to spend some of their wealth for religious purposes... including providing food for people... and one year, they stopped... it was then when this verse was revealed... and as for your most recent posts IGIT, that is why Muslims have a responsibility upon themselves first of all to understand the Qur'an... and I thank you, and to some extent Addi and others, for making me look up the reasons behind some of the verses... actually, I only bought the book because of the questions raised here... regards amein
