New York, Nov. 28 (Bloomberg) -- Enron Corp. shares fell in extended trading after Dynegy Inc. abandoned plans to acquire the country's largest energy trader, which now may face bankruptcy.

Enron shares fell as low as 55 cents in after-hours trading, after plunging 85 percent to close at 61 cents in regular trading. Dynegy withdrew its bid after Enron failed to raise $1.5 billion needed to operate until the acquisition was completed. Credit rating companies lowered Enron's rating to junk.

Others stocks that fell after the 4 p.m. close of regular trading included SRI/Surgical Express Inc., a supplier of reusable surgical gowns and other hospital products, which yesterday said it's restating third-quarter earnings because it improperly recognized about $1 million in revenue and orders.

The company's shares fell as low as $14.58 and have dropped about 42 percent in the past day.

Finisar Corp., a maker of fiber-optic equipment, was also among the most active stocks, dropping as low as $9.98 after closing at $10.13.
