Gottfried - I actually have a HDD cooler and will give this a try as from testing it did effectively reduce drive temperatures. However, I would be concerned that the HDD had temperature problems during the cooler part of the year, especially since it is a 5400 RPM drive running in a case with good air flow.

At the moment, I am installing a different HDD to see if the problems persist. If the new HDD appears fine then I will try to correct the old one with cooling, OS refresh, and driver updates.

Thanks,

-PT
