It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Yep! Sure brings some old feelings back. There were something like 12,000 post on the ENE Yahoo thread, just yesterday.....

I had/have no interest in ENE but sure feel for the folks that thought they had a safe play and have now lost everything.

Yes! I sure feel their pain.

Re: 'putting them in jail' -- I agree -- At least that Fastow dude who was the CFO.

This cost me a little money, but it was my own fault, as it was purely a speculative buy. I had made some on a couple of day trades, but lost that and more when I bailed at $1.18.

I just feel for all the people who lost their retirement accounts. The fact that so many live here in Houston makes the feeling that much stronger.

Scott,

There are some real horror stories of lifetime ENE employees with virtually their entire 401(k) balances in ENE stock in order to get the company match, with no option to sell the stock within the account until after retirement. They're now broke. Unreal. Someone up above is going to be taken to the woodshed.

Another article on the ENE debacle:

money.cnn.com

Here is one particularly disturbing nugget, though I guess it isn't surprising:

"Analysts admitted that they didn't always understand what the company was doing and that they took the company at its word on what earnings were."
