Since they were in a prison, it's called a war crime.
That characterization won't last, but it should by now be clear to everyone that letting POWs have weapons is, ummm, less than productive.

This is strange to say, but the feeling I get is that in spite of the Talibs willing to die in battle, it's hard to take them seriously, since their cause is fuzzy and many change sides so easily, and are then willing to die for the OTHER SIDE ! What a strange enemy, to our way of thinking. We have to be bludgeoned into taking a truly hard line against them.

Maybe that's why we don't hear much from other muslims, especially Saudi Arabia... not that they are our enemy too, paying off our gov't officials, nah, it's just we don't understand them. Yeah, that's it.
