Lemmme see,

If you have multiple HD, then RAID allows you to backup your HD as well as access your memory faster.

eg. I have 3 18G SCSI HD...with RAID, 2/3 of my info is stored on each HD, so I can access my info much faster(as it can read 3 HD @ the same time, thus only having to get 1/3 of the info from each. Also if one of my HD breaks the info is on the other 2, so hopefully I don't lose anything. I just need to plug in da new drive and it automatically updates itself (@ least I think that is what a friend told me ; )

Best of luck,

SS
