Steve, Re: "I think finding, as well as maintaining partners, may have gotten a little bit harder for AMD after that statement."

AMD's relations with other companies couldn't have been stellar to begin with. Otherwise, they'd still be selling processors to IBM and Gateway, and their Athlon MP platform might have a tier-1 or 2 design win.

Steve,

Is this a sign of a strained partnership? Makes me wonder after the infamous, "We are good at using other people's money" statement from Jerry. IMO, that has to be one of the most disastrous things any CEO can publicly say. Although he did not mean it that way, all sorts of negative connotations come to mind when I hear that quote. I think finding, as well as maintaining partners, may have gotten a little bit harder for AMD after that statement.

It's OK, when Jerry made the "other people's money" quote, he also referred to the move of the same name, in which Danny DeVito portrays a fine, upstanding businessman. NOT!
One of DeVito' best, IMO.
