Joe Re..About the expansion, I don't recall anything directly from AMD, but there was a lot of speculation here, on this thread, that AMD would be making their own wafers there. <<<<<<<<<<< While I have no proof, my guess is that AMD increased their estimates of wafer usage. We discussed the amount of implanters it would take, several months ago, and I believe it was decided, there weren't enough to do all of AMD's output in SOI. Perhaps AMD was just going to use SOI for portable and high speed chips. But now AMD may have decided to go 100% SOI.
