Brazil, Nov 27, 2001 (Jornal do Commercio/SABI via COMTEX) -- Telesp Celular
will be the first company in Latin America to test Brew, the mobile Internet
operating syatem developed by Qualcomm. Qualcomm's strategy is to offer services
which will take advantage of the increased connection speeds which will be
possible with the new generation 2.5 cell phone technology which will be
available in Brazil in December. Telesp will test the Brew system in January.
Brew is a free program and can be developed for any model of cell phone and will
make the provision of new services much quicker. Users will be able to download
programs, games and information while they are off-line.
