Iso:

Just caught the act on the thread Kastel (thanks) sent me to. If they are just in butt hiding mode I hope we've learned that the majority of the people shouldn't be a silent majority anymore and it's time their governments start doing what they want and stop letting the tail wag the dog. Lobbyists, NGO's, tenured civil servants and just general government waste, the whole mess has to be cleaned up. Now miners, drillers, farmers, utilities have been shut out for so long, it's about time someone listened the the creaking of the foundations of our infrastructure.

Bob

DOJ's Already Monitoring Modems
By Declan McCullagh and Ben Polen

4:42 p.m. Nov. 28, 2001 PST

WASHINGTON -- The Department of Justice already is using its new anti-terrorism powers to monitor cable modem users without obtaining a judge's permission first.

A top Bush administration official lauded the controversial USA Patriot Act at a Senate hearing on Wednesday, saying that the new abilities have let police obtain information in investigations that was previously unavailable.

"We would not have been able to do (this) under prior law without a specific court order," said Michael Chertoff, assistant attorney general in the Justice Department's criminal division.

Sounds like a great way to get stock tips, lol!

BTW, coming up on a lot of work and too little time, so I'll be scarce around here for awhile...

Exciting day in the natural gas pits.

""January Henry Hub natural gas closed sharply lower for the second day in a row on Thursday pressured by panic selling by traders uncertain as to how the demise of U.S. energy giant Enron will effect the market. This week’s breakout below this fall’s decline and could lead to an eventual test of weekly support crossing at 1.76 later this year.""
