Saturn, >I wish to modify my earlier assertion that Intel stands a good chance of elbowing out TI from its dominant position in the cellular phone Digital Signal Processing Market. I meant that Intel MIGHT ELBOW OUT TI FROM THE 2.5G and 3G CELLULAR DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING MARKET.

My reasoning goes along the following lines. Most 2.5G and 3G phones will have a built in PDA. The extra bandwidth makes no sense unless you have a minimum PDA level CPU in the handset.

Thanks for the post changing your prediction about Intel in cell phones somewhat. PDA with cell phone, onward and upward in technology. Have any feel for timing of that integration?

Tony

Saturn V - Re: "Intel's strategy can be summarized as INTEGRATE AND CONQUER. "

Intel is using their wafer fab expertise and high yields on big die to execute this strategy.

I just hope they have the right designs to win the contracts.
