07:53 ET Dell Computer (DELL) 27.06: Salomon Smith Barney reiterates Neutral rating. Firm remains concerned about estimates for the 2nd-half of 2002; would use strength in the stock to lighten up.

There are many estimates for 2002 that are suspect. Salomon has it right

Hi VIt....I love a good banter...Myself and the Chief would go at it for hours....

In the end, we would pm each other and thank each outer for the heated colorful discussions....

RE:Gold/markets

I am of the opinion that gold needs to hit $400 over the next year....But not for the same reasons you provide.

Mine is more for the safty of the mining industry. Exploration companies are needed for the supplies of base metals to be secured....The mining industry has gone through years of shrinkage especially in the junior explorers. This will have long term effects on the mining industry...With few new discoveries over the past decade, most of the known reserver are going into production or are already there.

There is a gap formed in this food chain of metals....The supply demand balance will shift and it is what you are seeing in the gold movements. Copper etc....

copper was overproduced by more than 40% 10 years ago with hugh reserves....now production meets demands but reserves are growing thin. Gold same etc...

Base metals are the backbone of american industry.....Supply/demand

My arguement remains with supply/demand.....

The balance was kept in the past with easyly found supplies- getting harder....

And natural ups and downs in price.....I think greenspan and large banks have used gold to prop up US currency....
the dollar is better than gold idea! Depress the gold and the dollar will rise....Dollar rises and economy does great...They can only get it to work for so long....how much gold is really shorted????

Oh well back to trading! Another angle!

So there is a link to the economy with my gold thoughts also!
