Its hard to understand a culture that requires women to be covered up in many locations but then permits them access to higher education. Is there a rationale?

American women are also required to be covered up in many locations, as well. Not just by culture, but also by law. Is there a rationale?

Tom, Mani made a similar point and I have to agree.

Nonetheless, I still think there is a difference between covering your entire body as opposed to those parts of the anatomy that are considered sexual. By covering a person's face, you take away that person's identity....their sense of individuality. I find that far more extreme than covering breasts and/or genitalia.
