Another airport security mover. Maybe another INVN?
(IDNX) : Reports that following the signing into law of the Aviation and Transportation
Security Act on Nov 19, company has received purchase orders from 2 new airports for its
fingerprint biometric technology for rapid processing of employee background checks.
Brings current number of US airports to select Identix technology to 13.
LOS GATOS, Calif., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated (Nasdaq: IDNX -
news), the worldwide leader in providing fingerprint biometric authentication, security, and
identification solutions, announced today that following the signing into law of the Aviation
and Transportation Security Act by President Bush on November 19, 2001, it has
received purchase orders from two new airports for its fingerprint biometric technology
for rapid processing of employee background checks. This brings the current number of
US airports to select Identix technology to 13. The Aviation and Transportation Security
Act requires that every current and prospective airport and airline employee undergo a
criminal history background check. Following the passage of the Act, the Company
believes this requirement will now apply to the estimated more than 700,000 airport and
airline employees in the more than 450 airports throughout the nation.

Jacksonville International Airport in Florida and Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska, join
11 other US airports in selecting Identix technology, including Houston's George Bush
Intercontinental, Boston Logan, San Francisco International, Orlando International, JFK
and Baltimore/Washington International. The Jacksonville Airport Authority (JAA) and
Omaha Airport Authority have both placed purchase orders for Identix Live Scan
TouchPrint(TM) 2000 Applicant Fingerprint Systems (TP 2000 AFS). Installation of both
systems is expected to take place in December 2001.

``We have assured our travelers that Safety and Security is our number one priority,'' said
John Clark, JAA Executive Director. ``The purchase of Identix' fingerprint technology is a
demonstration of our commitment to making Jacksonville International Airport one of the
safest airports in the nation.''

Identix Executive Vice President Worldwide Sales Valerie Lyons commented, ``We are
pleased to see airports immediately begin to purchase our Live Scan technology to assist
them in complying with the new requirements under the Aviation and Transportation
Security Act. Identix' technology is extremely easy to use and allows airports to process employee background checks in a very rapid manner, generally providing
any criminal background history in a few hours. We believe that our TP 2000 AFS' have
the potential to help ensure that airports throughout the US are able to meet the mandates contained in the new Act.''
