I see you have an eclectic set of responses to your post. I'll add one more <s>

America is in danger worldwide of being known as land of the hypocrits.

I think it's a bit late to worry about that danger, it's already happened. In a Bush press conference, there was an Indian reporter that rattled off a series of countries and situations involving the violation of human rights against Muslims and the lack of US interest in them. He went on to say that it appeared that the US view was that an American life was worth many non-American Muslim lives.
