In regards to what shorts? I saw some major dumping on the ES at the close. Seemed to me like everytime they tried to run the ES the SPX would not go along, or would move a few 10ths when the ES would move 1pt.

Plus the ES was running negative premi quite a bit today, I don't see that as a sign that shorts were nervous, unless they were shorting the index to hold the price down.

I have noticed a few tech stocks trying to move up...

That PMI was baaaaaad. But I am in the electronics industry and my company sold 4 machines this month (3 of them I sold) which is what we were doing back 1 year ago. But in our industry (Printed Circuit Business) we are the exception. Of 50-55 companies that have folded (750 in North America), only 1 had our equipment.
