A federal bankruptcy judge on Friday allowed ExciteAtHome to terminate its contracts with cable companies. But it was not immediately clear whether service would continue for the company's 3.7 million subscribers.

SDSL can't run over fiber (except IDSL 144K, ISDN 128K + 2X8K voice) so lots of times they check your number and say yup we can do it. Then when they check the street and it has fiber it's a no-go... But the IDSL is more stable than SDSL because of the shorter Cu loop. This is what I'm told anyways...
