IGIT, agreed... it is best if we leave it as is...

I agree with you IGIT as well... I don't want ANYONE to see ANY kind of terror...

by the way, Qur'an was revealed in limited number of verses at a time... so, it is not like the Prophet pbuh was sitting there everyday waiting for the revelations to occur... my understanding is that verses were revealed at different occasions either directly applicable to a certain incident... or as guidelines for Muslims... so, I really don't think it is right to think that verses that come after each other necessarily have to be related to each other... for example, in one of the Surahs, you find verses that address disparate issues... and actually, let me explain something... a collection of verses is called Surah and a single verse is called Ayeh in Arabic...

IGIT, I will look up 9:5.8 (the ninth Surah, the fifth Ayeh) and will let you know what I find.

I looked up 9:5 (Surah 9, Ayeh 5), which is Al-Tawbah Surah... and all I found talked about the non-believers breaking a treaty with the Muslims... I will try to find another book that has more detail on this Surah and will follow up on it.

now let me ask you this, do you believe that the Bible you have is a true word of God ? and if so, how would you feel if I refer to it by the "his so called word according to Christians" as you have referred to Qur'an ? if that is ok with you, it is not ok with me.

IGIT, there is only one Qur'an, why is there so many versions of the Bible? how does one know which one is the "true word of God" in its entirety as revealed to Issa (pbuh)? should one go and find the one that suits him / her the most and claim it to be the true one?

There are verses in the Qur'an that states that the religious figures of Christianity and Judaism altered the word of God whenever they wanted as they desired, and there are verses as well that state that God will forever preserve the Qur’an.

Amein
