There's no doubt that consolidation is going to take place, and in a big way. Unless, of course, other Euros follow France's lead and start forgiving some of the spectrum debt. This is unlikely, as far as I can tell.

The Germans wanted cash on the barrel-head ten days after the winning bids were known. They're unlikely to give the telcos a break. The Brits? Don't make me laugh!
