utter B/S of the first kind imho. If it's such utter "BS" and you believe that every backward society is capable of immediately implementing democracy, then let me ask you... Do you know of many parents who treat their families like democracies and permit their teenage children to vote on family decisions?? Because most of these young adults in Afghanistan would be lucky to have a grade school education (if that). And that's why it will require years of UN occupation and nation building to create a society where every injustice, real or perceived, results in a family blood feud and exchanges of automatic weapons fire. And certainly a UN presence will prevent any particular warlord from dominating his rivals through brute force, for control over the nation. Hawk
