Skeet: This is the slippery slope. Remember Somalia. We can't run the place, and there is no basis for a real sharing of power -- nothing has changed. The Taliban stinks -- but it WAS a government. I am no fan of theirs -- trust me on that. But US soldiers are now sitting ducks. Our armed forces are trained to fight, not to set to be peacekeepers or to establish a government in this relatively harsh and hopeless place. Maybe things will be fine -- I hope so. But there is no reason to expect things to be "fine", except wishful thinking. BTW, next stop? Iraq? Etc.? The easy gains have been had in the war, as in the market.
